VIDEOS + PHOTOS

My first graphic design was a Ferris wheel created on Microsoft paint. Not to toot my own horn, but for the 2002 technology and my 4 year old art skills, it wasn't too bad.I took a graphic design class in high school and that was my eureka moment. I quite liked designing and I did not want to stop anytime soon.

Fast-forward, I'm a senior graphic design student at Harding University and will finish up my degree this summer.Post-grad, I hope to work in illustration and in my free time I'll travel a bit, doodle wildflowers, take my dogs on long walks and have a picnic or two.

A Design Philosophy of Sorts

I’m a big time believer in the Butterfly Effect; a small action has the power to significantly shift a larger outcome. With every choice, word or design we toss into the world, bit by bit we’re contributing to bigger areas of life. As a designer, and just a person roaming the world, I think I owe it to myself and others to do my very best to make sure my small choices are compassionate and build towards the good.

I quite like these words: “If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers — most of which are never even seen — don't you think he'll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you?” When I’m working on a design, I aim to have the same mentality as the Wildflower Maker. I want my work to show close attention to detail, to feel light and to hold a spirit of joy. My intention is to create in a way that makes people feel important, valued and seen. I will never do this perfect, but I try to do a little better and better each go around.
